We want to put code in [login to view URL] file that rewrites or redirects incoming traffic without ‘www” to “www” for both http and https (preserve http/https). To be clear: [login to view URL] should go to [login to view URL] [login to view URL] Should got to [login to view URL] We already put in the code below that works for http but is not working for https ([login to view URL] incorrectly goes to [login to view URL]) because the redirect hardcodes http and instead it must be built to use the original http or https in the redirect code. <[login to view URL]> <rewrite> <rules> <rule name="Add www" patternSyntax="Wildcard" stopProcessing="true"> <match url="*" /> <conditions> <add input="{HTTP_HOST}" pattern="[login to view URL]" negate="true" /> </conditions> <action type="Redirect" url="[login to view URL]{R:1}" /> </rule> </rules> </rewrite> </[login to view URL]> This should be very simple for developer who understands the wildcards and rules. Must be done via web.config. All elements of code should be explained to us. Preference is to have code similar to above.
