I have an MS and PhD in Sociology/Rural Sociology from the University of Wisconsin with specialization in Applied Demography and Economic Sociology and a minor in Urban and Regional Planning, and a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University. As a detail-oriented and analytical professional, I have extensive research experience, having published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters that have been cited nearly 7,000 times. More importantly for this position, I have taught graduate and undergraduate research methods and statistics classes for more than 20 years in addition to my own analytical work.
I am well-versed in conducting and assessing research with myriad survey methods, segmenting data, managing databases, and communicating findings in a detailed and scientific manner. My expertise lies in managing database programs, strategically extracting and evaluating both quantitative and qualitative data, and translating forecasting results into understandable, visual reports. I am adept at multiple regression modelling, logistic regression and other categorical data analysis, structural equation modelling, Bayesian and frequentist hierarchical linear modelling, spatial autoregressive models and a variety of other statistical techniques. I am adept at using R, Stata, SAS. SPSS, Geoda and other statistical packages.
