Convert Visual Basic program to Delphi/Free Pascal

Task is to convert a Visual Basic 6 program to Delphi (needs to compile with Delphi7) or Free Pascal (Lazarus) The program is used to communicate with a device through the serial port. It sends and receives characters. There is one timer interval that checks for a periodic string sent by the device to detect a "heartbeat". There is one serial receive interval that gets a character from the serial port and add it into a receive buffer. The program main form has multiple input fields. These fields are parsed and a configuration string for the device is created. Additionally there is an option to read data from the device. A second form is used to display the process. The data is formatted and then written to a file. Both the source as well as compiled exe is available. Support can be given on functions of the VB6 program. The program has two main functions: a) read and write the device configuration (approx. 200 characters), b) read data from the device (several MB in 32 byte chunks). However, no worries are required for how the external device works. Use a serial lib and convert the existing VB program 1:1 The program is very small. I would estimate 5-10 hours for conversion and bug fixing. Pictures/exe will be provided to bidders in closer selection.
