Delphi 2010 or XE Firebird Database. I'd like a firebird application to create a large database containing historical prices of Products (read from update files each day). The Products are grouped into categories and these category names will be used as the the table names. It will be a Firebird database but using Devart UAC controls, it must be easy to reconfigure to use Oracle, SQLLite MS SQL etc. For firebird, both Embedded and Client Server database solutions can be chosen. This file is updated one or more times a day with new prices from a TAR file contained individual CSV files. ## Deliverables I'll need applications to 1). View the database information ( database Size, number of tables, when last updated, records per table etc) and search for data, view history for products etc. 2). A Database Extract program. Extract data from a list of codes OR categories for a user selected date range. We will obviously need CSV option but we need to be able to export this data and import it into a second copy of this database. 3). A database import program that can read a file imported from the extract programs above AND the daily price update files. 4). A DLL to get me data from the database. There will be about 6-10 API simple calls with an Excel VBA demo. Notes: I need this done quickly and quality code with good error catching. Speed of retrieval is essential as we have lots of data loaded into Excel each day. I need Yahoo messenger contact and updates every day. This product must be commercial grade and be easy to setup and deploy. I want to use DEvart UAC components to allow flexibility with the backend database and DevExpress components.
