I actually work with cocos2d-x and C++ on my day job and I can make the game really quick. I can also make it in unity if you want. Whoever made you use cocos2d-x in 2018 needs to have his teaching method re-evaluated, I'm only using it because I have to due to the project I'm stuck on being released in 2013 and needing maintenance.
