Migrate Jekyll docs to Sphinx incl. PDF support
We have a documentation written in Jekyll. This works fine, but we would like to be able to auto-generate a PDF file to enable offline usage of the documentation.
To achieve this we aim to migrate to Sphinx.
The project is split in two parts:
1.1# Initialize the Sphinx project with the karma_sphinx_theme. Migrate the markdown and structure from the Jekyll documentation incl. navigation menu, table of contents, internal links etc. Add recommonmark as extension as we wish to be able to write pages in markdown directly.
1.2# Enable mermaid so that Mermaid charts work as before.
1.3# Dynamic content: Ensure that we can use the info boxes (blue, orange, red) and e.g. refer to variables like the device ID as in the Jekyll docs.
2# Produce basic PDF: This part involves generating a PDF version of the documentation. The PDF should be auto-generated and involve minimum maintenance to ensure the structure & content works as intended. For the first version, a basic design is fine.
Please provide links or similar documentation of your previous experience with this type of work involving Jekyll and Sphinx modules. If the quality of this project is good, we will have more of these projects afterwards.
