Hello professionals, This project is to create a plugin that will extend the wp-json rest api. The plugin will modify the wp-json/wp/v2/posts/ route. When this route is called for a given taxonomy like wp-json/wp/v2/posts/&filter=[category-name]=recipes the api would return all the posts in recipes (already doing that) the plugin would inject a post from a specific category with a tag that matches the requested category name The idea is to have the query loop inject a random post from another category that has a tag that matches the requested category (which i can choose in the plugin admin) after a # of post (which i can choose in the plugin admin) from the requested category into the returned results. This will all have to be done using default posts, categories, and tags. Absolutely, no custom post types and we can also NOT create a new route. This must work with */wp-json/wp/v2/posts/ To be selected, you should have worked with and have extended the wp-json version 2 ( [login to view URL]) . At a minimum you should be able to write wordpress plugins with super easy especially around manipulating wp-query. Attached documentation will help illustrate this idea.
